a bit about us.

Natalie over at http://www.onceuponacline.com/ did this a few months back and I made a mental note to do it in the near future.

I'm Melissa Valentine and I'm the author this here blog. I am rapidly approaching 30years old, and i don't really care to talk about that. I am married to Mr. Valentine and we have a puppy named Indie that we adopted January 2009. We were married in the same church my parents were married in here in Fresno CA in 2006. We still reside here in Fresno. We met at Redwood Christian Park summer camp in July 2005 where I worked for 4 summers and the summer I left he worked there, I went up for a week to help out and the rest is history. We were both dating other people at the time, but neither were meant to be. We didn't actually start dating until Dec that year and by April we were engaged and married in August 2006.

I was born in Oakland, CA and hubs was born here in the valley. I did some college for 3 years and have enough credits in just about every subject but math and science to have multiple degrees. I never could pick a major, so I never actually got one. I learned much more about life outside the classroom than anything I learning in the classroom. Hubs graduated in May of 2008 from Fresno State with a degree in Sociology. I currently work for an insurance company as a CSR/assistant to an agent. Hubs works for the county. If I could live anywhere in the whole world, I would pick Nampa, Idaho. I still hope we'll move there one day. My most favorite hobby is photography. I don't claim to be good at it, I just claim to enjoy it. I hope to have children one day, when hubs is ready. My favorite color is pink. I love flip flops in the summer and scarves in the winter. I love coffee and dessert and the rain. I love to dress up but can't wait for my sweats. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love to travel, but hate long car rides. I have a touch of OCD and I get made fun of for it often. My least favorite chore is folding laundry and I would rather clean toilets for hours than do it. I have always said I should have been born in the south as I say "y'all, I drink sweet tea in the summer like it's going out of style, and I add butter to everything I cook. I spent one week in Louisiana in April of 2006 and I could have stayed forever if I didn't have a fiance waiting for me at home!

I started blogging last October having not the foggiest idea what to blog about, and it has since become a way to record our first year owning an home, having a pet, and i hope will one day record the lives of our children.
