A Special Meeting

Image
I forgot to post this back in July when it happened but I don't want to forget it. Bear is a fourth generation with his name, most go by their middle names. It was a fun day having all these boys together. Bear, his daddy (Hubs), his Papa V & his Papaw. He's so blessed to have such great guys in his life.

Lions & Tigers & Bears Oh My!

Katie & Ozzie (hubs sister and her husband) were out of town a few weeks ago and Nana & Papaw (hubs parents) had Carsyn for a few days. They mentioned they were taking him to the zoo on Saturday and we decided to tag along. Not so much because Bear would notice we were there or care about any of the animals yet, but because it was fun & we wanted to see how much fun Carsyn would have. Nana, Carsyn, myself & Bear (above) on our way into the Reptile house. Carsyn on the big lizard (I forget which kind it is exactally) statue. Carsyn getting in the big turtle shell. He proceeded to bump his head on it getting out and we had big tears for a moment. Carysn LOVES Baby Bear. He really enjoyed having him there at the zoo with him. We took him to the bird show there and we didn't imagine he'd sit there the whole time, but he liked it. He sat on Papaw's lap with his hand out waiting for a bird to come to him! :) Bear liked the bird show. All the boys. My...

beach baby

Image
My family has a beach week each summer in July and this year we decided to be brave and attempt it with a 6 week old. The house we stayed in has a little "back house" that is separate from the main house where my grandparents, parents, siblings, aunt & cousin were staying so we didn't disturb them too much in the night. We had our own little kitchen, bathroom & a big enough main area for the pack & play and all the stuff that comes with traveling with a baby! We go to the central coast in California which tends to be much cooler and while we had a few days of sun it never got above 75 degrees and most days was a bit overcast. I know that doesn't sound like a beach trip to many people, but we LOVE enjoying the cool weather and the scenery in the middle of summer when we have had 95+ degrees at home for over a month. Our very warm blooded baby LOVED the cooler weather & we liked getting to see him snuggled up in long jammies & hats since it's fa...

Maternity Photos

Image
I am posting all out of order right now just trying to get caught up and show off all the pictures I have that I didn't yet post. My sister in law is trying her hand at photography these days and she offered to take some maternity photos for us... I'm so glad she did and that we did them earlier than I would have. I don't look massive in them yet, but def pregnant. She did such a great job. She also took all of Bear's newborn photos and I love them as well. I want to still print some of these for around our house. I love them.

Barrett's Arrival

I am so behind on my blogging... I guess that's what happens when you have a baby. I still have two more baby showers to post pictures from but I first wanted to share pictures with you from his Birthday. We decided to have my friend Brittany in the room for the delivery to capture the important moments and she did a great job! These are not in order for some reason and I don't have time to try and fix them (gotta get this up before nap time is over!) This was just before he was born. This was the moment we first saw him, they put him on my chest just as he was born. I will never forget this moment. This (totally out of order) was me laboring and hubs rubbing my back. Labor was intense if you can't tell by the look on my face. I love this picture of his sweet feet as they were doing his footprints He's looking at his daddy after he was all cleaned up and happy. This was right after he was born, while they were cleaning him up and checking him out. This was the first tim...

wk 29 & 30

I don't have too many new symptoms to share. Baby is growing like a weed these days. All his kicks and movements are getting stronger. He's feeling heavier everyday. The heartburn is my only real complaint and it hasn't been unbearable, just really uncomfortable. The photo above is 29 weeks. This photo above is 30 weeks. Baby is the size of a large squash and weighs about 3.5 lbs. Last weekend was my first baby shower. We are having a few so we can have smaller groups and be able to visit with everyone and not combine random groups of friends and family. Last weeks shower was thrown by my friend Jill & her mom Lynn. Jill and I have been friends since preschool. They did a great job with the shower, every detail was perfect. We were blessed with so many great things for baby. I was trying to wait until all the showers were over before really organizing everything but my nesting got the best of me last night. I got most stuff put away and organized. I just love looking at...

lots of photos to catch up

Disclaimer: I'm running out of clothes that fit for winter time. it got really warm for a little over a week and I got excited to break out the short sleeve/cooler stuff that I seem to have more of (or am not tired of I should say) but then it got cold again. All that to say, ignore the fact that I am starting to duplicate outfits. The above photo is week 23. Week 24 above. Week 25 above. Week 26 above. Week 27 above. Week 28 above! Yes, I'm currently 28 weeks! We could technically have a baby in 10 weeks, it's crazy. Last week (27 weeks) I had to go have my glucose test done at the lab. I got there, waited awhile, drank the nasty orange flavored glucose drink and then sat around for another hour then they drew blood. I am a hard stick anyway, but this gal had a waiting room full of people and no patience so I still have a big ole bruise from that shot. I passed though! No 3 hour test for me! I had another doctors appointment yesterday and I had my shot for being Rh-. It hu...

Weeks 18- 22

Image
Hello there! Miss me? Yes I know it's been a LONG time. I've discovered, being pregnant, I'd rather sleep than do anything else and that even includes blogging! I also had a wretched cold/allergies for about four days last week that really put a hinder on things. I'm actually a week behind on pictures because I was sick. I'll take week 23 tomorrow and try and get it up in a timely manner. The photo above is week 18. That was the week we found out we were having a boy! The initial ultra sound showed that everything looked great and baby was healthy. They weren't able to get a good shot of baby's heart because of the way he was laying so I knew they would probably have me come back for another one. This was also the first week I felt baby move, it was just a few days before the day 18 week mark. Cute little flutters that made me smile. The photo above is week 19. I had a few sleepless nights around week 19-20. I am not really uncomfortable yet, but I can't...
