Barrett's Arrival

I am so behind on my blogging... I guess that's what happens when you have a baby. I still have two more baby showers to post pictures from but I first wanted to share pictures with you from his Birthday. We decided to have my friend Brittany in the room for the delivery to capture the important moments and she did a great job! These are not in order for some reason and I don't have time to try and fix them (gotta get this up before nap time is over!)

This was just before he was born.

This was the moment we first saw him, they put him on my chest just as he was born. I will never forget this moment. This (totally out of order) was me laboring and hubs rubbing my back. Labor was intense if you can't tell by the look on my face.

This was right after he was born, while they were cleaning him up and checking him out.

This was the first time I held him (other then right when he was born for a quick minute). This was quite the moment for me. I can't explain the emotion.

This was our first family photo (posed) and I love it.

being new home owners there are always "projects" to be done. the past few weekends as the weather has been getting nicer those projects have been outdoors. ryan usually digging, planting, pulling, weeding, mowing or sweeping and me... well, i photograph it all. it's the part i enjoy. and this last weekend as i felt i should get dirty and dig a little he consistently asked me " you want me to do that?" so i'm guessing i either looked way out of my element or i wasn't doing it "right". i'll stick to the photographs or maybe i'll sleep in next time. :) i enjoy my role. our herbs are begining to sprout this week. we're still debating on the garden. we were all go this weekend and then stopped to figure out how to get rid of the grass that is where we want the garden. when we couldn't come up with a "simple solution" we opted out of the garden and bought flowers for the front yard. now i think we have a solution so we migh

Tales From the Gym

That's one weird blog title, so let me fill you in... I started the Couch to 5K running program awhile back, remember? Well, I sucked at it. I can't run. It worked me to death and it never got easier. The whole push yourself each time and it will get easier and then you'll increase your running increments until you build up your stamina... yea none of that happened. I did week one like 8 times and I still wanted to die. The thought of increasing my running time made me want to stab myself in my eye. Not to mention that I'm apparently some sort of 29 year old going on 60 because OH.MY.JOINTS! My hips, my knees & my ankles cursed me daily. I loved the way I felt when I was done, but it was the getting there that just about killed me. So one day we didn't run and you know how that goes... one day turned into two months and then it wasn't spoke of again. Hubs and I had to sit down and have a heart to heart one day about getting into shape. We both needed it BAD.
