Belly Shot wk 11

I am letting all image issues go and posting a picture of myself, pregnant, at the end of the day with no hair done. All for the sake of "documenting the moment". My apologies to you all. So, I have posted a poll over on the right for you all to vote if you think we're having a boy or girl. I figured I would post some of my symptoms and a photo for those of you who like to make an informed guess. As you can see, I am definitely showing already. Some days it worries me a bit, but I know I'm eating good and that's all that matters. I am not going to stress about weight. We have been walking in the evenings (when it's not freezing out) and I'm starting to get some energy back, so we should be exercising more. I didn't have any horrible morning sickness. I didn't feel so hot for about a month. Certain foods were a real turn off, some still are. I did get sick a few times, but it was more of a gag reflex issue than a nausea issue. If anything made me co...

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments and congrats to hubs and I. We are beyond thrilled, as you can imagine, and we have just been on cloud nine sharing the news with everyone. For the sake of documenting the process I will share some more details with y'all. This little bean was planned and much hoped and prayed for. We found out that I was pregnant on Friday, October 1st. I had a feeling that whole week that I was pregnant because I had ZERO appetite and that is VERY unusual for me. I took a test on Wed and it was negative. I knew it was still early, so I waited. Friday I took a test from the dollar store as soon as I got home from work and it was positive. I couldn't stop smiling. I half expected to cry but I was so over the moon. I had purchased a little outfit when we started trying and I hid it knowing that's how I would tell hubs once we were pregnant. I ran and wrapped the outfit after I took the test and I put it on the kitchen counter where I know he ...

Tales From the Gym

That's one weird blog title, so let me fill you in... I started the Couch to 5K running program awhile back, remember? Well, I sucked at it. I can't run. It worked me to death and it never got easier. The whole push yourself each time and it will get easier and then you'll increase your running increments until you build up your stamina... yea none of that happened. I did week one like 8 times and I still wanted to die. The thought of increasing my running time made me want to stab myself in my eye. Not to mention that I'm apparently some sort of 29 year old going on 60 because OH.MY.JOINTS! My hips, my knees & my ankles cursed me daily. I loved the way I felt when I was done, but it was the getting there that just about killed me. So one day we didn't run and you know how that goes... one day turned into two months and then it wasn't spoke of again. Hubs and I had to sit down and have a heart to heart one day about getting into shape. We both needed it BAD....

Can You Feel It?

Y'all the excitement level at our house is through the roof! Fresno State Bulldog Football starts up TOMORROW! This season we have SEVEN home games and we play some great schools. Tomorrow night we take on Cincinnati. I am hoping we can pull off a win and that there is a great crowd there to support the Dogs either way. Football Season actually started a little while back at our house. #21 for Fresno State, Ryan Mathews was drafted first round (12th pick) to play (START actually) for the San Diego Chargers. This makes us happy for a number of reasons, but we are so happy that he'll be playing in California! Hubs has never really followed a specific NFL team, he just usually follows players that have played for Fresno State. This year we have a lot of guys playing NFL and I'm having a hard time keeping up! He has played a bit already in the preseason games and he's looking great. I tried to buy hubs a Mathews Chargers jersey for our anniversary and no place in town ca...

Fan Pages

Image
For those of you on Facebook, you know that businesses can have Fan Pages where people can "like" the business and leave comments of praise and thanksgiving. Well, I wonder if businesses realize that people can leave their beef there too? We bought a new car THREE weeks ago and we had a the best experience. We had been doing the research wanting to cut our payments down a bit and really wanting to get something that was a bit more fuel efficient {since gas prices are still climbing and we both have a commute to work}. We had done our homework and knew what we wanted but were not looking forward to dealing with car salesmen. They are my least favorite. I really hate the process of negotiating, trading in, signing a million documents, etc. We did hear that Costco has a car buying program through certain dealership and that you can get a discount {a pretty good one too} if you call their 800 number first and get a person to contact. We did all that and we were actually put in co...

Reading List

Image
If you're anything like me, you hear about books or see books lying around someones house and they catch your eye or attention. If you're like me you have a laundry list of books you'd love to read if you had the time to sit down or the money to go buy them all. I have borrowed a few lately and I got one for CHRISTMAS that I'm now almost done with and I have decided that over the next few weeks (before fall tv starts up again) I would love to get some reading time in. My current reading list: Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom. I have read his books "Tuesdays with Morrie" & "The Five People You'll Meet in Heaven" and I've loved them. I'm almost done with this book and I think it's fabulous. Captivating by John & Staci Eldridge. I read "Wild at Heart" by John Eldridge numerous times when I was dating/engaged as a glimpse into the heart of a man. I plan to read it again if I ever become the Mother to a little boy. Fa...
